Hitting Tip - 3

A hitter should create a gentle rhythm or add slight movement while in the batter's box. It's much easier for a hitter to start his swing if his body is already in motion instead of standing motionless while waiting for the pitched ball. A law of physics states that: "A body in motion tends to remain in motion while a body at rest tend to remain at rest".

Hitting Tip - 2

Great hitters establish a routine when getting into the batter's box. Routines provide an element of comfort and familiarity, and this increases a hitter's confidence.

Hitting Tips

1.  Always step into the batter's box with your back foot first.

2.  Keep some form of motion prior to load: rock hips back and forth; swing bat in a pendulum motion; repeatedly lift front foot; bounce bat on back shoulder, etc.

3.  Feet should be wider than shoulders.

4.  Feet should be pointed forward toward plate.

5.  Hands should be above elbows.

6.  Flex Knees.

7.  Line up middle or "door knuckles".

8.  Hold bat at 45 degree angle.

9.  Hold bat lightly in fingers - do not squeeze bat!

10.  Keep knees inside ankles even at load in order to maintain maximum    leverage.
